Merritt Innovative Solutions India Pvt. Ltd. is a manufacturing company. Its project operations team runs multiple concurrent projects spanning planning, execution, vendor coordination and stakeholder reporting.
The challenge:
Project managers were spending a large share of their week on coordination work rather than on project outcomes. That work included:
- compiling status reports
- writing up meeting notes
- chasing action items
- manually scanning updates for risks
As the project portfolio grew, this overhead slowed decisions and reduced the time available for execution.
The solution:
Merritt engaged PROLIM Global Corporation, a Claude Partner Network services partner, to design and deploy an AI-powered project management assistant built on Anthropic’s Claude.
PROLIM built the solution on the Claude API and matched each model to the work it does best:
- Claude Opus 4.8 handles complex reasoning, such as identifying schedule, dependency and delivery risks across projects.
- Claude Sonnet 5 handles high-volume tasks, such as status summarization and meeting summaries.
The assistant is embedded directly in Microsoft Teams, so the project operations team uses it where they already work, with no new tool to learn. Team members use it for:
- Automated status reporting: consolidated summaries across active manufacturing projects.
- Meeting summaries and action items: concise recaps with action items, owners and due dates.
- Risk and issue identification: early flags on emerging risks from project updates.
- Natural-language project queries: answers to questions about project status and open items, asked directly in Teams.
PROLIM’s engineering team used Claude Code throughout development, testing and the Teams integration. This compressed the path from use-case definition to production to a single week.
Results:
The solution is live in production and used by Merritt’s project operations team every day. Results to date:
