Ansaldo Energia Improves Design Efficiency Using Teamcenter and NX

Ansaldo Energia, Italy’s major provider of power plants and a manufacturer of gas turbines, steam turbines, and generators, needed to share corporate know-how, manage and trace legacy project data, and standardize and optimize design operations. By implementing Siemens Teamcenter and NX, Ansaldo Energia established a unified PLM environment for managing product data, engineering processes, manufacturing information, and field data across the product lifecycle. Teamcenter helped connect engineering and manufacturing information, improve data traceability, standardize design practices, and enable reuse of previous processes and reliable data. The solution reduced engineering design cycle time by 10 to 15 percent, increased component reuse by an estimated 20 to 40 percent, and consolidated corporate know-how into approximately 80 design practices.
